“I specialize in trauma healing, empowerment, and helping those struggling with life transitions.”

I specialize in working with adults; supporting you as you move through life’s turning points—launching into adulthood, parenting, or rediscovering yourself in a new season.”

“As I sit here, legs crossed in front of me, back straight, staring into a deep green yard, I wonder about the life that I have been leading. A part of me struggles with a quiet emptiness. A shadow of what is meant to be quickly disappears into the tall trees. I breathe in and out, counting in my head, waiting for the moment that my heart is filled with calmness; that sense of peace that comes from surrendering to the nothingness. The nothingness that is really the only something that matters. I feel with all of my senses in this moment, the soft, warm breeze across my face, the sweet smell of honeysuckles in the air, the blue of the amazing sky, and the birds that sing. I touch the warm wood deck which reminds me that I am here. I am peacefully here in this moment. I am whole. I feel love and acceptance in my soul. The emptiness disappears for awhile. I know my only purpose is to be right here in this moment; to feel and breath, to just be. It has taken me most of my life to get to this place of understanding; of feeling alive and knowing that I am simply enough. Enough.”

Do you struggle with thoughts such as “I’m a failure”, “I’m not good enough”, “I don’t matter" or others? If so, please reach out!

Tired of taking care of everyone else? Maybe tired of never feeling good enough or that your feelings don’t matter? Tired of feeling empty, depressed or anxious all the time? Struggling in relationships with others or yourself? I can help!

Life transitions—whether it’s launching into adulthood, navigating relationship changes, or facing an empty nest—can stir up deep emotions and old wounds. These shifts often awaken feelings of loss, uncertainty, or even unresolved trauma that can make it hard to move forward with confidence and connection. In my work, I integrate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy) to help clients find healing, clarity, and renewed purpose during these pivotal seasons of life.

In our work together, I integrate EMDR and EFIT to address both the emotional and relational layers of your experience. EMDR helps you release what’s been holding you back; EFIT helps you build a new, compassionate relationship with yourself and those around you. This combination allows for deep healing, emotional growth, and a renewed sense of direction and purpose.

Whether you’re stepping into adulthood, redefining your role as a parent, or simply finding your footing through change, therapy can help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and connection.

Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) brings the science of attachment into individual work, helping you understand your emotional world and the patterns that shape your relationships. EFIT focuses on helping you tune into your deepest emotional needs, build emotional safety within yourself, and strengthen your capacity for meaningful connection with others.

When facing transitions like leaving home, adjusting to an empty nest, or reimagining your identity in a new life phase, EFIT helps you:

  • Understand the emotional patterns that drive your reactions and relationships.

  • Cultivate self-compassion and emotional balance.

  • Create secure, authentic connections with others and with yourself.

EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps people process and release the impact of painful or overwhelming experiences. Whether those experiences stem from childhood, relationships, or more recent life events, EMDR works by helping the brain reprocess stuck memories so they no longer trigger the same emotional distress.

When life transitions bring up old fears or self-doubt, EMDR can help:

  • Reduce the emotional charge of past events that keep you feeling “stuck.”

  • Build inner resilience and self-compassion.

  • Create a sense of calm and confidence in navigating change.

Through guided sets of bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping), we work together to help your mind and body integrate what has happened—allowing space for new, healthier beliefs about yourself and your capacity to thrive.

Therapy is hard and scary sometimes!

But…..I am easy to talk to and personable and you will want to come. I have been told I’m warm and friendly but not afraid to address more difficult themes that may emerge in therapy or may be blocking my clients from growing. I can help you safely walk through your pain in order to experience healing and growth. My therapeutic orientation is mainly client-centered; therefore, therapy is an orderly process of client self-discovery and actualization that occurs in response to the therapist’s consistent empathic understanding of, acceptance of, and respect for the client. I also have an eclectic approach adjusting to the individual client’s needs. I incorporate a family system and trauma-informed lens, EMDR and/or EFIT as well as other interventions depending on what my clients’ needs are. I love incorporating Mindfulness for relaxation (especially helpful in reducing anxiety) and EMDR resourcing strategies to increase resilience and aid in distress tolerance as we work together.

A cozy living room with a beige sofa adorned with blue patterned pillows, a wooden chair with a throw blanket, and a round wall clock. The room is softly lit by table lamps on wooden side tables. A decorative mirror and a small desk with a lamp are positioned against the wall. A potted plant stands near the door with frosted glass panels, and a patterned rug covers the floor.

Important to Note:

Insurance: I will do my best to look up your benefits for insurance. They are not always accurate. It is the client’s responsibility to call and verify their benefits. CPT codes I generally use to ask about when you call are 90837, 90847 or 90834 for therapy sessions, and 90791 for initial session. To determine if you have mental health coverage, the first thing you should do is check with your insurance carrier. Check your coverage carefully and find the answers to the following questions:

  • What are my mental health benefits? Is Nicolle in-network? Do I have a deductible to meet? Do I have a copay or coinsurance fee? How many therapy sessions does my plan cover? How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider (if using OON)? Is approval required from my primary care physician?

Insurance Disclaimer: While I try to be as accurate as possible when verifying benefits, your fees may change depending on your eligibility and benefits during the date of your sessions. If I provide an estimate, I won't know your exact fee until I bill your insurance and get your explanation of benefits back from your insurance company. You are also encouraged to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask your member representative about your 'mental health, outpatient, office visit' benefits. You are responsible for any fee not covered by insurance at the time of service.

Once I contact you, I will send you an invite to create a client portal from a HIPPA compliant EHR called Therapy Notes. Please fill out all required intake forms before our first visit.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATES: For self-pay clients (no insurance)

There is a new law, called The No Surprises Act, that began January 1, 2022. Under this law, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost, if you do not have insurance, or if you are choosing to opt out of using your insurance.

This act applies to all certified and licensed medical and behavioral health professionals across the country who serve patients and clients who do not have insurance, or who are choosing to opt out of using active insurance benefits. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

A Good Faith Estimate is currently not required for patients and clients who are choosing to use their insurance with an in-network provider, but I will happily provide you with one for all out of network services.

If you request a Good Faith Estimate from me or any other healthcare provider you’re working with, make sure you receive it in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or therapy session. You also have the right to ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

You have the right to dispute the bill you receive if it ends up being at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

  • If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
